One of the things that people say about Southern California is that you can surf the Pacific and snow ski up in nearby Bear Mountain in the San Bernardino mountains all in one day. While surfing is definitely doable during the summer months, you’ll find that the white stuff has melted away in the picturesque village of Big Bear Lake, California. And that’s just fine for members of the SoCal cruising community who look forward to a special three-day automotive event that occurs annually during the second week of August.
The 29th Fun Run at Big Bear Lake rolled into the small town of Big Bear Lake this past August 10th, 11th and 12th with more than 500 custom and classic cars lining the streets being admired by fans of chrome and horsepower, many spending the entire weekend in the popular ski resort to see the wheels in motion and engines revving for the Saturday afternoon Cruise Around the Lake followed by a drive-through awards presentation that takes place at the end of the event on Sunday afternoon.
This is a free event that draws some of the finest classics and most outrageous hot rods on the West Coast. If you were unable to attend this year, don’t worry, Team Edelbrock has you covered.
